Preschool Assistant Teacher

Shining Star Preschool at the Lexington UMC is currently seeking an assistant preschool teacher. Hours for this position are 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. MWF and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. T/Th plus additional hours as needed for special programing.
 
The assistant teacher must be organized, detailed and creative and be willing to team-teach with the director. This person must perform duties as directed, in the classroom, art room and prepare for daily school day activities. Also, will be responsible for helping implement a whole-child, faith-based and play-based philosophy.
 
Applicants must meet or exceed DHHS state standards for an accredited preschool, including providing fingerprints and a background check. Must have educational experience, and knowledge related to the growth and development of children. Must at least have a high school diploma or GED and have a valid driver’s license.
